【Another name】goslarite.

【Description】Colorless crystal, relative density 1.957, gradually weathering in dry air, dissolved in its own crystalline water at 39℃, dehydration into monohydrate at 100℃, heated to 280℃ completely lost crystal water, decomposition into zinc oxide at 680℃, further decomposition above 750℃, decomposition into zinc oxide and sulfur trioxide around 930℃. It reacts with alkali to form zinc hydroxide precipitate and with barium salt to form barium sulfate precipitate. Soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol, aqueous solution is weak acid.
